David Weston

Stourbridge and Birmingham Colleges of Art in the 60s (NDD).

 

Solo shows in the Midlands – late 60s.

 

Moved to Mevagissey, Cornwall. Set up pottery workshop with showroom for ceramics and oil paintings – 1969.

 

Own Gallery from 1970 (sole exhibitor from mid 80s).

Launch of ‘Red Admiral, A Voyage Around Cornwall’ at The Eden Project. A perfect venue for exhibiting giant semi-abstract butterflies. Along with watercolours there were thirteen oil paintings (up to 6 1/2′) – 2007.

 

Recent works include large oils of diverse themes, from magnified butterflies to fragmented harbour scenes. Also watercolour on location; preferably in sunny climes.
